Lois Winston

At the age of twelve, Lois Winston wanted to be an astronaut. Motion sickness (never put her in the back seat of a car, let alone on a roller coaster) killed that career before it got off the ground -- pun intended. So Lois turned to her next love, Broadway theater. There was only one problem: Broadway wasn't interested in an off-key singer with two left feet. So Lois went to art school and launched a career as a writer and designer in the consumer crafts industry, designing craft and needlework projects for kit manufacturers as well as magazine and book publishers.

Then she got the urge to write.

Not satisfied to juggle only two careers, Lois is also an associate of the Ashley Grayson Literary Agency, where she searches for diamonds in the slush.

Talk Gertie To Me
Dorchester LoveSpell, April 2006
ISBN 0-505-52684-0
Nori Stedworth was living the good life. Her own apartment in Manhattan, a hotter-than-hot boyfriend, and the best coffee in the city right around the corner. That is, until one devastating afternoon that culminates with the unexpected arrival of her mother—dragging her entire wardrobe and all her craft supplies in tow.

When Mom isn’t trying to convince Nori to return home to marry the most eligible bachelor in Ten Commandments, Iowa, she’s unleashing her inner Domestic Diva all over New York. Nori copes by channeling Gertie, her adolescent imaginary friend. But instead of offering warm fuzzies, Gertie is now an acerbic (and annoying) butinsky, throwing her two cents in about everything in Nori’s life. Like, Nori’s new job at a radio station hosting the wildly popular “Gertie Gets Even” might finally be her niche—if she agrees to forego her closely guarded anonymity. Like, Nori’s drool-worthy boss Mac just might be the man of her dreams—if she listens to her heart. Like, it’s time Nori stopped hiding in the shadows.

Move over, Gertie—Nori’s stepping up to the mic.
