Ellora’s Cave has offered Abdele Dubois a contract for her newest manuscript, DESERT FEVER. This will be the first in a stand-alone series about a Global Positioning System (GPS) inside a retro Ford Thunderbird convertible that has the power to grant wishes. GPS (a.k.a. Guaranteed Personal Satisfaction) locates what the heroine in each story needs most. DESERT FEVER will be a late 2008 release.
Adele’s debut novel, MOTORCYCLE HEAT, is still earning praise: “Imagine my surprise when I opened my mail this morning and found a Four Star review from The Romance Studio for a book that’s eleven months old. Terri Brisbin is thrilled to announce that she has accepted an offer of representation from Ethan Ellenberg of the Ellenberg Literary Agency in NYC. Ethan currently reps authors like Mary Janice Davidson, Bertrice Small, Rebecca York, Lindsay McKenna, Amanda Ashley, HelenKay Dimon and Lucy Monroe.
And in more good news… Terri’s 2007 Harlequin Historical, THE EARL’S SECRET, won the 2008 Desert Rose chapter’s Golden Quill for Best Regency. And then Terri accepted an offer from Kensington Books to write THE GIFTED, a trilogy of medieval romances set when glimmers of magic still touched the Highlands and people of Scotland for BRAVA, edited by Kate Duffy.
Carla Kempert has signed with an agent, Steve Harris of CSG Literary Partners on a one-book basis, courtesy of Chris Coste, catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. Carla emailed Chris about his book, The 33 Year Old Rookie, and asked if he could refer her to his agent, who then asked for a full. Best of Luck to Carla! Congratulations to Alice Wootson who was nominated for a lifetime career achievement award by Romantic Times. Alice will also be a keynote speaker at the annual conference held by readers of African-American romances in Chicago this May. And on May 10th, she’ll be part of a forum hosted by the Philadelphia Writers Conference (PWC), held at Drexel University.
Look for Kate Welsh’s January book FOR JESSIE’S SAKE. She hopes to be signing it and the others in the trilogy at the next meeting and splitting the proceeds with VFRW. Her next book will be released in June for Love Inspired.
